I have a senior who was the secretary during junior year but this year has been in the dual enrollment program so she has been attending college. First semester she came to meetings and earned her service hours. This semester she has not. She wants her honor cord anyway. Do yo allow members who were only members junior year to wear the honor cord? Must they serve 2 years fully?

Thank you both for your responses.
Hola! There aren't any specific SHH guidelines when it comes to honor cords, however I follow what Amarilys has suggested below with my chapter. I know that I have had a few years with similar situations, so at the beginning of senior year I let my students know that they are expected to participate in 80% of our activities, service, and meetings in order to receive honor cords. If attendance becomes an issue, I ask that they participate in another way in order to be able to receive them for graduation. Hope this helps!
Good morning! All of my seniors receive their cords whether they are regular or associate members. Sometimes my members do not attend all the meetings, yet they are involved in other ways. If she can't make the meetings and that is the expectation of your chapter, I would ask that she contributes another way - making posters for an event, tutoring hours, etc.
