El Dorado Chapter of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica welcomed 11 new members in the high school auditorium on Friday, February 24, 2023. New members include: Diego Amador, Angel Berreondo, Sarah Currie, Ariana Patel, Lauren Hayes, Ana Herrera, Zara Kalmanson, Carol Marques, Morgan McCreary, Rianna Patel, and Gabriel Villalba-Kuzin. The induction ceremony was led by officers Erika Zavaleta and Rhea Maniar.
In addition to new members,class of 2023 senior members were also recognized for their commitment and service.This year’s members continue to tutor younger students taking Spanish classes. Recently, members held a “Pulsera” bracelet sale to benefit Central American communities. Senior members recognized included: Ramy Asfoor, Sarah Bachrach, Max Balon, Katie Corddry, Ethan Cunanan, Lis Jermano, Lilly Lawton, Andrew Lopez, Ella Malabuyo, Divya Patel, Nico Santiago, Jonathan Wu, and Erika Zavaleta.
